Source Code

Source Code is a stacked steel pyramid, held together at its peak by a keystone bursting with plant life. This precarious stack of circuitry-laced forms references a modern temple to technology, yet at its center is an altar, filled with water and light.

The sculpture’s tripod-like towers allude to the balance our ambitions must find with the resources of Nature, as the foundation of all human kind’s inventions are based on the raw material of our Earth as its source code. Our entire existence relies on its bounty. Despite humans claiming to be the most advanced species, we are willfully ravaging our only home.

The allegory of this sculpture lies in its structure as well: remove the keystone of Nature and the entire pyramid of human progress collapses. Without honoring and preserving our source code, we could end up destroying ourselves.
